Fall 2025 Knitting & Yoga Retreat | Knitting Instructors

Michelle Lambton
I have been crafting with yarn my whole life. It felt accessible, warm and just good. I have been knitting for 30 years, knitting passionately for about ten. I speak crochet, weaving, felting, spinning and dying. I have been teaching beginner knitters for six years at the Beehive Wool Shop in Victoria, BC and thoroughly enjoy watching how different folks learn and make the craft their own.

I love the magic of knitting…transforming simple yarn into beautiful items. My family owned a woolen mill in Prince Edward Island so I grew up surrounded by yarn and people who were makers. My mother, aunt and grandmother taught me to knit and my first ‘real’ project was a scarf for my dad. It was hideous. Over the years I have ventured into other fibre arts like sewing, needle felting, rug hooking, embroidery, needle point, and cross stitch, but knitting is the craft I am passionate about. My ideal day is sitting on my deck with my knitting and a good audio book.

I knit as a form of moving meditation. I love to knit cosy things like sweaters, shawls and socks for myself and as gifts for love ones. I'm inspired seeing how both yoga and knitting can be powerful tools for self-regulation, personal empowerment, and connection. I offer Yoga & Knitting Retreats on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada and Knitting Circles for my yoga community at my home in Victoria, BC.
